Who is Yang Shaohua's disciple
Yang Shaohua's master was Mr. Guo Rongqi, a fifth-generation Shouzhi generation artist of the comics. Although Yang Shaohua's master's lineage is not recognized by the mainstream comedy community, in the comedy family tree compiled by comedian Ma Sanli, the master is still clearly written under Mr. Guo Rongqi's disciple.
Yang Shaohua was born in 1932, and was apprenticed to the Beijing Qiming Tea House in 1944. In fact, Yang Shaohua's mentor was Mr. Chang Bao-ting, who was only three years older than him, and many of Yang Shaohua's comedic skills were taught by Mr. Chang Bao-ting, who became famous at a young age.
The Qiming Tea House was opened by Mr. Chang Bao-ting's father, Mr. Chang Lian-an, and Mr. Chang told Yang Shao-hua to call Mr. Guo Rongqi, the famous Beijing-Tianjin comedian at the time, his master. Mr. Guo Rongqi did not object, but there was no formal ceremony. This also laid the groundwork for Yang Shaohua's unclear mastership.
