Why don't street lamps be replaced with LED lights?

Traditional street lamps are all sodium lamps. At present, LED can't completely replace sodium lamp, and it needs to be developed.

1 insufficient penetration. First of all, the traditional sodium lamp is yellow light, which has poor color rendering, but good penetration. Especially in rainy days, yellow light has better scattering and diffusion, wider range and longer distance. However, the light of LED lamp is not full spectrum, and its color rendering is good, but its penetration is not enough. Therefore, LED needs more luminous flux to ensure road lighting. At present, the rectangular light plate is basically made by the secondary light distribution of LED lamps to solve this problem.

It costs electricity. The luminous efficiency of sodium lamps is generally 80- 150lm/W, but at present, the luminous efficiency of low-power LEDs is relatively high, but when it reaches high-power LEDs, the luminous efficiency still stays at 70-80lm/w. But theoretically, LEDs still have a lot of room for development, and it can be upgraded to 300lm/W, while sodium lamps are difficult to upgrade.

3 maintenance is difficult. The light source and lamp body of traditional sodium lamp are separated and easy to maintain. Moreover, the general light bulbs are hutongs, and there is no mismatch. If the LED light is broken, it must be repaired. Moreover, there is no standardization of LED manufacturing in the market. Each manufacturer's module is different, and the electrical appliances will be different. If it is broken, you can only find the original factory. And if the original factory closes down because of some problems, even the lamp shell will be replaced in the end.

4 Life span is not long. The key to LED life is the heat dissipation technology of the lamp. Traditionally, we think that the long life of led is because we use low-power led, and there is basically no big problem in heat dissipation. The power of street lamps needs at least 150W, which not only has high heat dissipation cost, but also requires excellent technology. The factories that can achieve these goals are basically water chestnut, so the construction cost is relatively high.

5 is expensive. The basic price of high-power LED that can meet the above requirements is not close to the people, and things are rare.

However, with the development of science and technology, LED will completely replace the traditional sodium lamp one day.
