Erhu, also known as the huqin, has appeared in the Tang Dynasty, known as the Xiqin, the Song Dynasty, known as the JIqin. It is generally believed that today's huqin from the development of Xiqin, has become China's unique charm of stringed instruments. The term huqin appeared in the Tang Dynasty, when the western and northern peoples were called hu people, and huqin was the common name for the instruments imported from the western and northern peoples. On May 24, 2021, the erhu was included in the list of representative items of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage. on October 31, 2023, the "list of representative items of the national intangible cultural heritage protection unit" was announced, and the protection unit of the erhu art (the art of the Jiangnan Sun's erhu) project, the Shanghai Fengxian District Museum of Culture (the Shanghai Fengxian Intangible Cultural Heritage Preservation and Inheritance Center), was assessed as qualified. Types of erhu:

Mechanism erhu is produced by mechanical automation, high efficiency, low cost, but relatively poor tone and appearance; handmade erhu is made by traditional technology, sound and appearance are very good, but the price is higher.
4, according to the regional style, the erhu can be divided into two categories: the southern erhu and the northern erhu.
