Composition festival culture

The second part: the differences between western festival culture and national traditional festival culture.

Today, the "foreign festival" has become popular.

-How to treat China people's "foreign festival" complex?

Valentine's Day, April Fool's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. ...

On the one hand, when some experts and scholars started to move to change the traditional festival in China, which has been followed for thousands of years, to February 4th, which caused an uproar in the society. On the other hand, there are also many modern, avant-garde and trendy new people in China, who are catching up with the fashion of westerners and celebrating foreign festivals in succession! Faced with these bizarre and colorful social existence, some people of insight can't help asking such questions: What happened to the Chinese nation with a long history? What happened to the kind and wise people of China? What happened to China's time-honored traditional culture? How to treat the cultural exchange between China and the West? Should China people love Western festivals? Do Westerners worship China festivals like us?

With these questions, I used the half-month winter vacation to look up information in the library and reading room, search relevant information on the Internet and visit people from all walks of life. Now I will sort out the main points as follows:

1. With the development of society, the cultural exchange between China and the West is unstoppable, and the exchange and integration of festival culture as an important part of culture is natural and natural.

The development of modern society is changing with each passing day. The development of high technology, especially network communication technology, makes the "global village" smaller and smaller. With the development of China's political, economic and diplomatic career, especially after China's entry into WTO, western cultural concepts and oriental traditional morality naturally blend into people's daily lives in such international metropolises as Hongkong and Shanghai, where eastern and western cultures are perfectly blended and violently collided. With the passage of time, this integration has expanded to a wider range of fields. People influenced by western cultural concepts are enjoying all kinds of foreign festivals, while traditional Chinese festivals, such as Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, are also very lively. Therefore, what's wrong with China people having more foreign festivals to express their feelings? Don't more and more young people learn to send a blessing to the elderly on Mother's Day and Father's Day while approaching Christmas and Valentine's Day? Who says that modern material civilization and spiritual civilization are not the combination of complementary multicultural existence?

Second, the correct attitude towards a series of western festivals should be to adhere to Mr. Lu Xun's "takenism" principle: use your head, open your eyes, take its essence, discard its dross and take it yourself!

On the issue of how to inherit the national cultural heritage, Comrade Mao Zedong pointed out long ago that we can neither totally deny nor totally accept it, but critically absorb it with Marxism–Leninism's historical and dialectical philosophical vision and attitude. As for how the West can learn from foreign cultures, as early as 1930s, Mr. Lu Xun clearly pointed out in his famous political treatise "Takeism": Use your head, keep your eyes open and take it yourself! To sum up, I think the correct attitude towards a series of western festivals should be: don't blindly worship, don't lose yourself; Neither westernization in its entirety, acceptance in its entirety, nor denial in its entirety are impeccable; But take its essence and discard its dross! Influenced by history, religion and culture, most western festivals have obvious religious colors, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although religion mostly persuades people to do good, after all, our country advocates freedom of religious belief, and it is not good to make any hard and fast rules for these festivals. For those festivals with a certain flavor of western life, such as Valentine's Day and April Fool's Day, we can do whatever we want. After all, it can bring us a certain interest in life and inject a little vitality into our tense and boring life. For those western festivals that are full of romantic feelings and conform to the traditional virtues of our Chinese nation, such as Mother's Day and Father's Day, we should vigorously advocate and promote them, constantly improve the quality of the people and speed up the process of social civilization!

Third, while advocating western festivals and enjoying them well, don't forget to carry forward the long-standing excellent festival cultural traditions of the Chinese nation and don't lose yourself in blind worship.

The Chinese nation is a nation with a long history, the people of China are civilized and wise, and the culture of China is profound, especially many traditional festival cultures, which are rich in the essence of national culture: the Spring Festival is a traditional festival for the Chinese nation to celebrate and reunite, and people have been busy for a year. At the beginning of the new year, they visited relatives and friends, exchanged blessings, looked back on the past and looked forward to the coming year, and the family was happy. Tomb-Sweeping Day, we can go to the grave, remember the great achievements of the revolutionary martyrs, and place our grief over the deceased relatives; Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan. On this day, we can kill two birds with one stone by rowing dragon boats and eating zongzi. Why not? The Mid-Autumn Festival is another family reunion festival after the Spring Festival. We can have a family reunion, enjoy chrysanthemums, eat moon cakes, taste wine, say goodbye, honor the elders, care for the younger generation, and have fun! ..... In a sense, these festival cultures not only show the customs of a certain time and place, but more importantly, show the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, such as respecting the old and loving the young, being hardworking and kind, being brave and wise, and the simple, pure and profound folk culture. These are indispensable! With the development of the times and the west wind spreading eastward, these traditional cultures are gradually forgotten, declined or disappeared. If we don't inherit, develop, excavate and develop them in time, how can we China people meet our ancestors when they are completely extinct? At the same time, there will be irreparable defects and regrets in the treasure house of world cultural heritage! Therefore, every Chinese descendant with a sense of responsibility, justice and foresight must stand at the height of history and the world to understand this issue. Make the past serve the present, and make foreign things serve China, neither worshiping foreign things and obsessing foreign things, nor standing still. Instead, we should properly absorb the essence of western festival culture without losing ourselves. It is a traditional Chinese virtue and a long-standing national culture, and it is two wonderful flowers that open side by side and float to the world!
