Breakdancing dancers collectively referred to as the B-Boy, B-Girl, is a skillful street dance style with a focus on individual style, and is also the North American earliest dance style in street dance.

Breaking originated in the Bronx in the 1970s in the United States. It is interesting to note that most of the early Breaking dancers were Hispanic and African American, yet their preferred musical style was greatly influenced by hip-hop and rhythm and blues music.
