What is power management?

Power quality is the physical characteristic of power supply system that interferes with the use of power, and power quality problems can be considered as the general term of power system interference problems. Generally speaking, power quality is summarized as voltage, current and frequency deviation that leads to equipment failure. At present, power quality is divided into steady state and transient state, and the traditional research direction is based on system steady state. With the development of industrial automation and power system, transient power quality has become the primary problem faced by enterprises.

Theoretically, power companies should ensure that the power supply quality meets the national standards, so it is their responsibility to ensure the power quality, but the power quality also needs the cooperation of power users, that is, to take appropriate measures to curb the power quality problems. At present, the power quality index is based on 95%, but there are too many factors affecting power quality, which requires electrical equipment to have the ability to withstand short-term over-standard operation.

This involves power quality control, including power system, power electronics, automatic control, electrical equipment and so on. The international research on the new generation of power quality control theory system includes the expansion of power theory, the establishment of a perfect power quality evaluation index system, the new generation of power quality analysis methods and power quality control devices based on user power technology.

At present, the domestic power quality control technology is not mature, and the harmonics of the power grid are quite serious. The reason is that the low-voltage power management market is not mature, and most enterprises have not yet a clear and complete concept of power management. Most power management products are directly provided by equipment suppliers. However, equipment suppliers are limited by factors such as cost, and the starting point is to ensure the normal use of equipment, which does not involve the operating costs of enterprises and the fines imposed by power supply companies. Therefore, modern power management needs the joint efforts of all parties.
