How banknotes are made
RMB banknotes are printed by six enterprises, namely Beijing Banknote Printing Factory, Shanghai Banknote Printing Factory, Shijiazhuang Banknote Printing Factory, Xi'an Banknote Printing Factory, Nanchang Banknote Printing Factory, and Chengdu Banknote Printing Factory, which are assigned by the People's Bank of China in accordance with the annual currency issuance plan. The coins were assigned to be manufactured by the Shenyang Mint, Shanghai Mint and Nanjing Mint.
The printing process of banknotes is basically unfolded according to the process under the hair: designing banknote diagrams → making engraved plates → making printing plates → offset printing → gravure and letterpress printing → printing numbers → checking the large sheets → cutting them into singles → checking the singles → counting the number of sheets → packing and putting them in boxes → into the warehouse.
