There are many kinds of operas in China. Which province is Huangmei Opera in?

Huangmei Opera originated in Yinshan District, Huangmei County, Hubei Province, and then developed in Anhui Province, becoming a major drama in Anhui Province. Through the influence of Yan Fengying, Huangmei Opera gradually developed throughout the country and returned to Hubei in the 1960s and 1970s, so Huangmei Opera is a local opera in Hubei and Anhui provinces.

Huangmei Opera, together with Beijing Opera, Yue Opera, Pingju Opera and Henan Opera, is called "the five major operas in China" and is the main local opera in Anhui Province. Hubei, Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hongkong and Taiwan Province also have professional or amateur Huangmei Opera performance groups.
