The most common method for extracting chemical components from traditional Chinese medicine is
There are nine main methods to extract chemical components from traditional Chinese medicine:
impregnation, percolation, decocting method, reflux extraction, continuous reflux extraction, steam extraction, sublimation, ultrasonic extraction and supercritical extraction.
1. immersion method
conditions: normal temperature or warm temperature (6℃~8℃)
suitable ingredients: extraction of Chinese traditional medicine with unstable active ingredients or containing a lot of starch, gum, pectin and mucilage.
Disadvantages: the extraction rate is low, and when water is used as solvent, its extract is easy to go moldy and deteriorate.
2. Percolation method
Method: fresh leaching solvent is continuously added to the crushed Chinese medicinal materials to make them permeate through the medicinal materials, and the leaching solution flows out from the outlet at the lower end of the percolation cylinder.
characteristics: it consumes a lot of solvent, takes a long time and is troublesome to operate.
