Yixing, as a "hometown of professors" which advocates education, cultivates heirlooms and produces many celebrities, how to make full use of traditional moral education resources to educate minors in ideological and moral education and traditional virtues, vigorously carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, and strive to cultivate the basic moral conduct of the majority of minors, such as patriotism, law-abiding, courtesy, honesty and trustworthiness, unity and friendship, diligence and self-improvement, and willingness to contribute, is a major issue to be solved urgently in the ideological and moral construction of minors in our city. In order to seriously solve this problem and effectively implement the strategic plan of promoting Chinese culture and building the spiritual home of the Chinese nation put forward by the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, our city began to carry out a series of activities in primary and secondary schools with the theme of "reading classic and beautiful literature and striving to be a sunny teenager" in 2007. In the past two years, we are delighted to feel all kinds of entertainment and lessons brought to minors by classic culture, and we are always moved by the small lens around us. It can be said that reading cultural classics has become a beautiful landscape in the construction of campus culture.

First, the main practices

We deeply feel that it is a good thing to carry out classic reading activities, which are beneficial to the present and the future. The key to promoting this activity lies in the attention of leaders at all levels, the depth of organizational guidance and the intensity of implementation. In order to carry out the activity vigorously, push forward in a down-to-earth manner and ensure the long-term and sustainable promotion of the activity, we focus on three links: guidance, organization and implementation.

The first is to formulate implementation opinions. In order to make the classic reading activities based on the wide recognition of leaders at all levels, teachers and students, at the beginning of the creative design of the activities, we organized extensive and in-depth research activities, and held many symposiums attended by students, teachers, parents and other different objects for in-depth discussion, and absorbed opinions and suggestions from all sides to ensure the pertinence, practicality, innovation and prominence of the whole activities. On this basis, the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Civilization Office, the Municipal Education Bureau, the Communist Youth League Committee and other relevant departments jointly issued the "Notice on Launching a Series of Activities of" Reading Classics and Striving to Be a Sunshine Youth ",and decided to inherit Chinese civilization, improve moral quality, strive to be a Sunshine Youth, and build a harmonious culture as the theme, with disciples' rules, Saint Amethyst, hundreds of surnames and thousands of surnames as the theme, with primary and secondary school students in the city as participants. The second is to select and distribute teaching materials. In the process of selecting and compiling teaching materials, we should adhere to the principle of paying equal attention to selectivity, ideological content, richness, times and interest. On the one hand, it is impossible for primary and secondary school students to browse all the classic works, and they can only choose the best among them. On the other hand, some classics inevitably contain some contents that do not meet the requirements of the times. For primary and middle school students whose values and world outlook are forming, it is impossible to distinguish, understand and comprehend the essence contained therein. For this reason, we have carefully screened the teaching materials, selected more than 10 ancient books such as The Analects of Confucius, The University and Mencius, and distributed more than 20,000 volumes of Disciples Rules and Three-Character Classics. In the body part, choose famous sentences, famous paragraphs and famous articles that are catchy to read; In the reading part, stories, fables, myths and legends that are short, concise, easy to understand, vivid and strong in story, as well as implicit humor and thought-provoking jokes are used, with patterns reflecting ancient architecture, customs and culture, illustrations and pictures, which reveal the flavor of ancient culture everywhere and inspire students to gain new ideas. According to the age and cognitive level of students, all primary and secondary schools actively compile school-based textbooks that are suitable for children's memory and easy to understand and accept. For example, in the experimental primary school, the backbone teachers of Chinese courses are specially deployed to form a team to compile school-based textbooks of ancient poetry, and two school-based textbooks of Traditional Virtue Education Manual are compiled in combination with the syllabus, with annotations and translations to facilitate students' memorization and understanding.

The third is to organize a lecture tour. The Municipal Civilization Office specially dispatched old teachers who are proficient in classical literature and rich in teaching experience to form a propaganda group, and went deep into schools, communities and online parent schools to give more than 200 lectures, teaching reading methods and skills, and received 6,543,800 people. Professor Liu Bing, director of the Expert Committee of the Organizing Committee for the Reading of Chinese Cultural Classics, and Professor Gong Ke, director of the Jilin Provincial Classics Promotion Counseling Center, were invited to hold four special reports on Chinese Classics "Inheriting Chinese Virtues and Building a Harmonious Culture" to guide all sectors of society to fully understand the significance of carrying out the reading of Chinese Classics. A roving exhibition of pictures of Chinese traditional virtues was held. The theme of the exhibition is modesty and courtesy, respect for the old and love for the young, curiosity, respect for etiquette, patriotism and law-abiding, and more than 30 stories about traditional virtues are told in an illustrated way. Organize primary and middle school students to visit the Yixing Hall of Fame, Xu Beihong's former residence, Zhou Peiyuan's former residence, Pan Hannian's former residence, Taiping Heavenly Palace and other patriotic education bases to receive patriotic education. Primary and secondary schools have extensively carried out observation and exchange activities such as "Reading Classics into the Community and Entering the Family", "Reading Classics with Red Scarf First", "Holding Hands with Small Hands and Children Taking Care of Parents", as well as theme class meetings such as "Passing on the National Spirit from Generation to Generation", "Young Eagle Action" and "I can do it in the new era", which has driven parents to actively participate in reading cultural classics and further enriched and expanded the educational connotation.

The fourth is to organize collective reading. Pay attention to the distinction between levels. For the lower grades of primary school students, you only need to learn by heart, and you don't want to know too much. For senior pupils, it is required to recite skillfully and understand simply; Middle school students are required to fully understand, apply what they have learned and combine knowledge with practice.
