Cultural elements of Hangzhou Asian Games

No matter the shapes of venues such as "Big Lotus", "Little Lotus", "Big Jade Cong" and "Hangzhou Umbrella", or the emblem of "Chao Chong" based on Qian Jiangchao, the "burning torch" with the elements of Liangzhu Jade Cong, the medals of "Lake Mountain" and the "blue and white porcelain" dress showing the lakes and mountains of Hangzhou have been completed.

Large-scale sports activities are an excellent platform to show the cultural characteristics of the host country and city. We hope to better show China culture and Hangzhou culture to Chinese and foreign audiences through our own design language. Professor Yuan, the chief designer of "Tide Tide" emblem and professor of China Academy of Art, once led the team to turn the arch bridge on the West Lake into the G20 Hangzhou emblem. This time, they focused their creativity on the famous Qiantang River Tide.

Qian Jiangchao is a natural wonder, and watching the tide in Qianjiang is a humanistic landscape, so the image of Qian Jiangchao has both natural and humanistic attributes. Besides the emblem of Tide Tide, a series of highly recognizable Asian Games designs, such as the mascot of Jiang Nanyi, the medal of Hushan, the torch of burning fire, and the bouquet, tray and podium for awarding prizes, were all completed by the designers of China Academy of Fine Arts.

A grand sports meeting

Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee and China Academy of Art jointly established Hangzhou Asian Games Art Design Center on 20 19 * *. Professor Han Xu, vice president of China Academy of Art, said: Visitors to the Asian Games will definitely want to see something more characteristic of China and Hangzhou. Therefore, in the overall image design, we should fully reflect our own and local characteristics and do ourselves well.

In Han Xu's view, different cities have different tastes. Beijing, the capital, is solemn, while Hangzhou in the south of the Yangtze River is more leisurely and romantic. Therefore, the visual art design of Hangzhou Asian Games pays more attention to femininity. When we design, we reflect the cultural heritage of Jiangnan more and convey the equality between man and nature, man and environment, and man and creation.
