Why don't the Chinese have characters and numbers now? They had them in ancient times~

The taboo on names in Chinese tradition is the basis for the creation of characters. In no other civilization is there such a wide range of taboos around the name as in China. Under this great change, the traditional system of characters and numbers also lost its practical application basis and became cultural symbols.
