What did the word "day" originally mean?
The word "sky" is extended from the original meaning of "overhead" to the sky above the head, and can also refer to nature in general. All natural things can be called "days", such as astronomy, weather, natural disasters, nature and so on. Now a day and night is also called "a day", such as a whole day, today, tomorrow and so on.
The ancients thought that heaven was a god with will, the master of all things and the supreme authority, so they called heaven "God" and the king who ruled the world "Son of Heaven". In the traditional concept of China people, "Heaven" cares about the people and is the most impartial. For example, when the ancients were wronged, they often turned to heaven for help, and they also called honest officials "blue sky."
Sometimes the original meaning of the word "day" is used. For example, Chinese medicine for treating headache is called Zhengtian Pill in Chinese medicine, in which "Tian" means "head".
