Is it true that the Dragon Boat Festival has been successfully bid by South Korea?
Korea has been influenced by China and also celebrates the Dragon Boat Festival. in 2005, the Gangneung Dragon Boat Festival in Korea was designated as an Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the World UNESCO.
But South Korea's successful bid does not mean that the Dragon Boat Festival has been registered, only that "the folklore of Korea celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival" has been entered into the world heritage.
Korea's Gangneung Dragon Boat Festival, which begins with the Daegwallyeong Festival of the Gods, features a variety of witchcraft and ritual ceremonies, as well as traditional games and experiential activities such as rope skipping and mask-making, and exciting witchcraft performances, mask dances, and agricultural music performances.
So the folklore is not quite the same as the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival.
In 2009, China's Dragon Boat Festival was inscribed on the United Nations Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list, making it a true Dragon Boat Festival on the World Heritage List.
But this thing tells us that South Korea and other countries in the protection of traditional culture ahead of our country, China's protection of traditional culture heritage is not optimistic.
