The nine-section whip is one of the soft instruments of wushu, which belongs to the third category of other instruments in modern wushu competitions: soft instruments. Below, the practice steps are described as follows, for the reference of practitioners.

Step 1 practice:

Take a piece of red silk cloth, about 40cm long, about 25cm wide, tied in the ring between the whip head and the whip section, become a whip color.

The above two methods of repeated practice, and stop.

Because the whip color is very large, so the speed will not be very fast, dance, you will hear "whoosh", "whoosh" sound, with the improvement of proficiency, you can gradually increase the number of times, to each dance 100 times as appropriate.

The main point: Where the past practice is not law, or fear of steel whip to hurt themselves, can increase the whip color to reduce the speed of the method, so that you can quickly master the skills of dancing whip.

The second step of practice:

The whip color change small, take 40cm long, 2cm wide colorful silk cloth tied between the whip head and the whip section, the practice method is the same as above.

Drawing circles: 50 times for each group of positive rotation, 50 times for each group of negative rotation.

Dancing flowers: 100 times per group. After changing the whip color to a smaller size, the resistance is reduced and the rotation speed is accelerated. Repeat the exercise every day and stop when you are finished.

Step 3:

Remove the whip color completely, hold the steel whip, practice the same way.

Drawing circles: 100 times each for forward and reverse rotation. Dancing flowers: 200 times each.

Step 4 practice:

Take a steel pipe of about 120cm in length and 3-4cm in diameter, and hold one end of the pipe with one hand.

The 5th step:

Take an iron rod weighing about 5kg or more, hold one end in your hand and dance with the iron rod as a whip, practicing the same method as before. Initially practiced about 10 times, and then increased to hundreds of times without feeling the effort.

Step 6 practice:

Then practice steel whip, practice with the 3rd step, but does not specify the number of times and posture, as you wish, how you want to dance on how to dance, and strive to speed Xi fast. If you take "every minute" as a unit, for a limited time counting, the practice is more effective.

Correctly understanding and applying the above practice methods, you can practice the nine-section whip in a short period of time. Usually, the first and second steps only take a week or two, or even less, to master. If you can't get the method for a long time, even if you work hard, you will only get half the result with twice the effort. Perhaps, you are not adapted to the use of nine-section whip, it is advisable to give up.
