What is the National Wushu Hometown Competition?

The national Wushu hometown Wushu competition is one of the traditional Wushu competitions with great influence in the domestic Wushu field. At present, it is held every two years, with the "China Wushu Town" awarded by the former State Sports Commission and the State Sports General Administration in batches as the participating unit, and may be held once a year in the future.

Take the recent Eighth National Wushu Competition as an example:

The 8th National Wushu Competition was hosted by Wushu Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, Chinese Wushu Association and Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau, and undertaken by Shandong Wushu Institute and Rizhao Sports Bureau. There are four major events in this competition: traditional boxing, traditional instruments, sparring events and performance events. Among them, traditional boxing includes boxing, Tai Ji Chuan and Nanquan, and traditional instruments include single instrument, double instrument and soft instrument. Nearly 1,000 Wushu enthusiasts from 66 teams of "hometown of Wushu" from 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government gathered in Shuidu Rizhao to discuss Wushu and enhance friendship.
