Biathlon is a combination of cross-country skiing and shooting. Athletes use small caliber rifles on their backs. During the competition, athletes should wear skis, hold ski poles and carry guns, and slide along the indicated slides in the right direction and order to complete the scheduled whole journey. Shoot every taxiing distance, and the first one to reach the finish line wins the championship.

In the competition, cross-country skiing adopts freestyle. When shooting vertically, the competitor must stop and put the snowball on the ground before shooting. When shooting horizontally, players need to support their elbows on the ground to shoot. In individual events and short-distance competitions, players can choose the target position. In chasing and starting in teams, the first player who reaches the shooting point enters the target position 1, the second player enters the target position 2, and so on.

The caliber of shooting guns used by athletes participating in modern biathlon should not be greater than 8 mm, and automatic rifles and optical sights are not allowed. When skiing, you can't load bullets in the gun chamber. Only after entering the shooting position can the magazine be loaded with a rifle.
