Laser TV tens of thousands of dollars, compared with LCD TV, what is the difference between the two? What's the difference between the two?
In recent years, the concept of laser TV is getting hotter and hotter, the businessman trumpeted the advantages of laser TV, and even said that laser TV will completely replace LCD TV. Therefore, many newly renovated families in order to catch up with the trend, believe the publicity of the business, give up the LCD TV, choose the very popular laser TV.
What is laser TV? In the end, is it good? Compared with our common LCD TV, what is the difference? Which one is better? Laser TV and LCD TV, two kinds of TV my family have used, laser TV spent 30,000 yuan, can give you the feeling of use and their differences:
Laser TV is what? In fact, laser TV, also known as " ultra-macro laser projection TV ", is essentially a projector + curtain.
However, the projector of the laser TV is special, using an ultra-short focus projector, the projection ratio is very small (traditional projectors for the medium-long focal length, the projection ratio is large); and, the projection light source of the laser TV is a laser (traditional projectors are generally LED lights).
So, the laser TV can be understood as a high-end version of the projector, the principle of work: the light source (laser) to provide brightness, and then the laser through the processing of the image chip, the optical signal into a digital signal (picture), and finally by the lens is projected onto the curtain. It has better performance in all aspects compared to traditional projectors.
Liquid crystal TVs, which are very familiar to everyone, are actually TVs with liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Liquid crystal is a special substance, itself does not emit light, LCD TV screen to display the picture, mainly rely on the light source inside (such as LEDs, OLEDs) and a variety of electronic components, changes in voltage, *** with the role of the reflection of the picture.
After understanding the concept of projector, laser TV, LCD TV, then what are the more prominent advantages of laser TV? From the point of view of my experience and business promotion, the advantages of laser TV are mainly four:
First, the screen size
The reason why laser TV is becoming more and more popular, the main reason is that its screen is large enough to move up to 100 inches, 120 inches, or even 150 inches. And our traditional LCD TVs, generally can only reach 70 ~ 80 inches, to be able to do 100 inches of a few.
And there is a point, the traditional projector, if you want to project a 100-inch picture, it is very far from the projection distance (the average family living room is often not large enough); laser TV does not have to, it can be placed directly on the TV cabinet to achieve the proximity of the projection, the reason for the above has also been said, the laser TV using ultra-short focal length projector, the projection ratio is small.
Two, the viewing experience is good
The screen size is large, the most intuitive feeling is that the viewing experience is good, such as an immersive theater experience, which is not comparable to traditional LCD TVs.
Three, long service life
The service life of laser TV, mainly affected by the life of the light source. Compared to traditional projectors, laser TV uses a laser light source, the laser light source works at a relatively lower temperature, so the aging speed is relatively slower, the light source attenuation is slower than the traditional projector, the service life will be naturally longer.
However, if you take a laser TV and compare it to a traditional LCD TV, there is not much difference between the two, and you can basically use it for 6 to 8 years.
Four, eye protection
Many merchants love to "eye protection" as a selling point of laser TV, the reason is that the laser TV is diffuse reflection, by the projector to project the picture on the curtain; and LCD TVs are relying on the bottom of the screen light source to directly emit light imaging, so the human eye irritation is greater. So it is more irritating to the human eye.
What are the drawbacks of laser TVs versus LCD TVs?
First, the price is expensive
Laser TV on the market, the price is generally 10,000 to 20,000 yuan, if the size of some of the larger, higher grade, the price is as high as 30,000 yuan or more, very expensive.
The LCD TVs on the market, the cheaper ones are 2,000~4,000 yuan (65 inches or less), the high-end models are 6,000~7,000 yuan (60~75 inches), and 10,000~20,000 yuan, you can buy the top of the line products of the big brands (80 inches or more).
Second, low clarity
The imaging method of laser TV itself, determines its clarity is far less than LCD TV, after all, LCD TV display can accommodate multiple pixel points, and laser TV rely on the number of micro lenses distributed on the chip to image.
As a result, LCD TVs on the market can easily achieve true 4K resolution, while laser TVs are basically "jitter 4K", which improves picture clarity by jittering the pixel displacement.
Three, low brightness, poor contrast
Laser TV low brightness, poor contrast, the reason is also inseparable from its imaging principle.
Low brightness means that the laser TV is greatly affected by the brightness of the environment, poor resistance to light, in a place where there is enough light, we may not be able to see the picture. As for contrast, it refers to the contrast of the picture color, brightness and darkness, if the contrast is poor, the picture displayed, the bright places become dark, the dark places become bright, the picture quality will be very poor. From the point of view of picture quality to compare, LCD TV is more advantageous.
As mentioned above, the selling point of laser TVs publicized by merchants - eye protection, in fact, it is precisely because of its various hard and shortcomings caused by the low brightness, the picture is not so clear, and naturally less eye-catching.
Four, collision offset
Above said, the laser TV projection ratio is very small, usually placed directly on the TV cabinet, even if the distance from the curtain is very close, but still able to project a large size of the picture. However, this also means that once the laser TV has a slight collision, the picture will be drastically shifted, and you need to manually make adjustments, which is very inconvenient.
Fifth, the installation is difficult
Laser TV installation is difficult, mainly for the installation of the curtain is more troublesome, laser TV curtains are mainly black grille curtains and Fresnel curtains two. The former is a soft screen, can be curled, but the effect of light resistance is poor; the latter is a hard screen, the effect of light resistance is better, but can not be curled.
Large-size curtains, especially Fresnel curtains that can't be curled, may not be able to enter the elevator of the community during the installation and handling process, and if necessary, even need to be outdoor lifting through the crane, manual handling, resulting in additional installation and handling costs.
To be honest, we buy TV, the most important thing is the viewing experience, and the viewing experience is good, mainly depends on two aspects: the size of the screen, the picture quality is good or bad.
Today's LCD TVs on the market, the screen size has been able to reach 100 inches or so, so compared to the laser TV is no longer an advantage, the price is expensive, the cost-effective low, the picture quality is also relatively general, there is really no need to buy, we say right?
