Introduction to the Spirit of Eighteen Roads in Min County
People in Min County worship water gods and 18 gods, which is an ancient Han folk custom and folk belief activity. On the 17th day of the fifth lunar month, at the Erlang Mountain Flower Festival, people throw water on the street to welcome God, and everyone should give gifts and wear robes. The peak period of offering sacrifices to the gods is from 15 to 17 in the first month of each year. All the "lucky gods" are sitting in eight big sedan chairs, firing guns and beating gongs to clear the way. Their rituals include flags, cards, banners and umbrellas, similar to the etiquette of feudal officials. 18 Fushen each has a fixed block and route, and the Han folk lighting is also carried out according to Fushen's patrol route. In the area where the immortals went, every household lit firecrackers to welcome them, and even gun fragments were all over the street. At the intersection of 12 fixed street, there are also large-scale "flowers" and "fighting flowers" (flowers arranged by many fireworks) for the gods to set off at the same time when patrolling.
