Kong Rong:

Kong Rong (153 years - September 26, 208), the word Wenju. He was a native of Lu (present-day Qufu, Shandong). In his six years in office, he repaired cities and towns, set up schools, raised the number of talented people, and showed Confucianism, and was recommended by Liu Bei to lead the Assassin of Qingzhou. In the first year of Jian'an (196), Yuan Tan attacked Beihai, and Kong Rong fought with him for several months, and eventually fled Shandong in defeat.

Soon after, Kong Rong was recruited by the court to be a master craftsman, and then moved to be a senior official, and was appointed as a doctor of the central government. He was a guest of honor and a fierce critic of current politics, and was later killed by Cao Cao for offending him.

Kong Rong was a poet and a good writer, and Cao Pi described his writing as "a companion of Yang (Yang Xiong) and Ban (Ban Gu)." His prose is sharp and concise, and his masterpiece is "Recommendation of the Table of Thy Heng", whose six-character poem reflects the reality of the turmoil at the end of the Han Dynasty.
