Main characteristics of thermal sublimation photo printing

Yellow, red and blue are the three primary colors we call everyday, and any other color can be made from these three primary colors. It is through the collocation of three colors that thermal dyes sublimate to achieve various colors and color depths. However, in the process of thermal sublimation printing, three colors are not printed at the same time, but one color is used at a time, and the required color requirements are combined through three printing. It is for this reason that the printing medium needs to pass through the printer three times in the printing process, which also makes the printing process in sublimation of thermal dyes very slow, but the quality of photo printing is high enough to make up for this shortcoming. Some thermal dyes undergo a process of film attachment after sublimation and coloring for three times. That is, the special substances on the ribbon sublimate and attach to the three layers of colors on the paper surface, forming a protective film, which can play the roles of oxidation resistance, discoloration resistance, water resistance and fingerprint prevention. This is impossible for inkjet printers.

Thermal dye sublimation ribbon is disposable and is usually sold with printing paper. Each roll of ribbon has three colors: yellow, red and blue. Every time you print a photo, roll a set of ribbons. Therefore, although thermal dye sublimation can also be printed at low resolution, the printing cost cannot be reduced and the printing speed can only be slightly improved. It is recommended to always print at the highest resolution.

By the way, I also want to remind you that after printing, the printed images and words will leave a latent image on the used ribbons. If the printed content belongs to confidential information, it is recommended to save the ribbon and destroy it after use. Thermal sublimation photo printing
