What are the basic ideological elements of conservatism?
Conservatism is a philosophical view of human nature as flawed, believing that social ills can be mitigated rather than eradicated. The central idea of conservatism is opposition to all radical revolutions and innovations, and advocates political moderation and compromise to reconcile the conflicting interests of various social forces.
Conservatism views the state as an organism in which the parts cannot survive independently of the whole; inequalities of status and property are natural, and the leadership of society should belong to sages of superior quality rather than to the leaders of the masses. Conservatism emphasizes law and order, which represents continuity and stability, and preserves traditional social bonds such as family, ethics, and religion.
It mainly represents the interests of the upper classes such as the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie, while, to a certain extent, reflecting the demands of conservative elements in other classes or strata such as peasants, freelancers, intellectuals, workers, and the unemployed.
Conservatism (English: conservatism), also known as conservatism, possesses different meanings in different contexts, or at different stages of history, but they all share a similar essence: a political philosophy that emphasizes established values or the status quo. Conservatism is generally relative to radicalism, not to progress.
Conservatism is not necessarily opposed to progress, but only to radical progress and outright subversion, preferring to take a more conservative approach. It is characterized by valuing established institutions and preserving or tinkering with them, and by respecting tradition as the accumulated wisdom of the ages rather than as a liability.
Conservatives may hold different views or focus on different issues or may even be in opposition to each other, depending on the nature of the region or era in which they operate. For example, conservative parties in the United Kingdom and the United States today usually favor a small government, free-market economic structure, and are strongly opposed to socialism and ****productivism in terms of political ideology, and are even anti-globalization and pro-populism, such as withdrawing from unnecessary international organizations.
Some progressive conservatives in the United Kingdom and the United States may be relatively more supportive of limited market control and social welfare policies, and may instead use the law to constrain fair competition; conservatives in European countries are also more hard-line in their treatment of foreign immigrants than conservatives in North America, but they are relatively more open to foreign cultures, and even support some social liberalization. They are more open to foreign cultures, and even support some socially liberal policies, although they are also concerned with the free development of business and the market economy, although they are less likely to oppose or support to a limited extent the goals of the welfare state.

In the Western world's democracies, the terms "conservative" and "right wing" are often interchangeable. " terms are often interchangeable, almost synonymous. While this is not entirely true, the two do overlap extremely well. Likewise the things both oppose are almost identical: the left (and while leftist groups and individuals may also hold conservative social and cultural attitudes, they are usually politically compartmentalized from the conservative movement).
And when it comes to economic policy and economic institutions, both conservatives and the right are usually in favor of the free market-though this is less common in Europe. And on moral and ethical issues - such as opposition to abortion - it's often the same people who are called conservatives and rightists.
Edmund Burke's conservatism favored stable, gradual reform over radical change. Many conservatives are also opposed to those who are xenophobic and racist - yet these are often categorized as being on the right side of the political spectrum as well, just as many liberals are opposed to the ****ing proletarian ideas of the left.
Trade protectionism and anti-immigration policies also often clash with conservatives who support free markets and free trade. Influenced by early British conservative thinkers such as Edmund Burke and David Hume, some conservatives were also opposed to the interventionism of the military, and Burke saw imperialism as being in complete conflict with the conservative tradition because it sought to create a new colonial society.
However, some supporters of theocracy, nationalism, and chauvinism are also often called conservatives, and imperialism and racism are often categorized as conservatives, with whom some "orthodox" conservatives sometimes associate. The British Conservative Party is a strong supporter of the concept of the British Empire.
The degree of overlap between "orthodox" conservatives and those on the far right, as they are called, usually depends on political taboos rather than on fairly rigid ideological differences. In European parliamentary systems, conservatives are usually aligned with centrists or even leftists rather than the xenophobic and populist far right, although many critics also argue that conservatives have adopted the ideas of the far right.
