Traditional Culture Encyclopedia - Traditional virtues - Dingjun Mountain is China's first film.
Dingjun Mountain is China's first film.
It was broadcast in the 31st year of Guangxu (1905). The founder of the famous Tan Pai Peking Opera plays the leading role of Huang Zhong, director Ren Qingtai and photographer Liu.
Based on the traditional Peking Opera Dingjun Mountain, the film filmed scenes such as "please", "knife dance" and "confrontation". The film was shot in the open air in the Intermediate People's Court of Fengtai Photo Studio in Beijing (now the original site of South Xinhua Street Primary School), which lasted for three days and recorded three black and white films.
Significance of Dingjun Mountain
From 1905 to 1908, Ren Qingtai of Beijing Fengtai Photo Studio successively filmed Tan Xinpei's Dingjun Mountain and other traditional Chinese opera films, which were shown in Daguanlou successively. In this process, Ren Qingtai, Liu and Liu undoubtedly became the pioneers of China films. Their bold attempt and exploration is a feat of the times, but it is the combination of film and China tradition in the ancient capital Beijing that perfectly explains the localization of film in China.
As Rao Shuguang, a scholar, said: As if it were the fate of China's films, China's films were married to traditional operas at the earliest, and to the most essential part of China's traditional culture, namely, operas; Presenting the essence of China traditional opera, namely Peking Opera, to the people of China, inadvertently and miraculously blended historical memory, national image and cultural process.
