China's most difficult village to get a wife

Gulu Village in Sichuan Province is considered the most difficult village in China to get a wife.

Gulu Village is located on a cliff in Yongli Yi Township, Hanyuan County, Sichuan Province, with the Dadu River running underneath the village, which is known as the "Village on the Cliff". The villagers have two channels to communicate with the outside world, one is a mule and horse road about 3 kilometers long, with a vertical height of nearly 1,000 meters, carved out of the stone wall; and the other is a paid cableway located on the cliff.

In the early years of the ancient road village would have been no road, the villagers rely on their hands down the almost vertical steep rock and tree vine stairs to keep in touch with the outside world. In the 1960s when the construction of the Chengkun Railway, see the villagers up and down difficult, the engineering team with a steel plate in the "sky" at the welded up a steel ladder, instead of a wooden ladder, the village of Gulu people ended up in the tree on the vine, "swinging" to and from the history of the village.

Guru Village Introduction

Guru Village, or Guru Yi Zhai, is known as the Yi Zhai of the Heavenly Households and the Heavenly Stairs. The original name of the rock, said to be due to the high mountains and roads there when the rocks fall down the sound of grunt and named. The mountain road is steep and winding, every small section of the mountain road has a surprise, every place is the scenery.

In December 2018, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development proposed to list Gulu Village in the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.

On June 6, 2019, it was included in the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages list.

On October 25, 2019, Gulu Village was selected as one of the second batch of "Most Beautiful Ancient Villages in Sichuan".

On August 18, 2021, it was announced as a key village for rural revitalization support by the Office of Rural Work Leading Group of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee.
