Dragon boat making skill is an ancient traditional handicraft skill. Tang Zhong Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province has always been the hometown of dragon boat manufacturing, with a history of 1000 years. Tang Zhong Town is a typical water town, located in the water network zone of the tributary of Dongjiang River, with a wide range of rivers and waters.

On June 7th, 2008, the dragon boat making skill was approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
The technological process of dragon boat manufacturing is as follows: selecting the bottom bone (keel), lifting the bottom, lifting the water, leveling, turning the water, widening the side, making crosspieces, sitting on the board, relaxing the intestines, reinforcing the midgut, smearing tung oil, planing, painting, making and installing the faucet and installing the stern rudder. The manufacturing time is 6 to 7 days. The dragon boat made in nave is well-designed, accurate in size, superior in materials, strong, smooth and exquisite in craftsmanship, and deeply loved by the people.

As an important part of folk culture, dragon boat is a cultural symbol of the Chinese nation. Nave has a large-scale dragon boat race of 150 years. Whenever you step into the fifth month of the lunar calendar, cheers and drums will be heard on the river in Tang Zhong Town.
The dragon boat scenery in Tang Zhong has both "taking advantage" (that is, free racing) and championships; There are Doulang on May 2nd, Chajiao on May 4th, Huang Yong and Jiangnan on the 6th, Mali on the 8th and nave on May 13th. They attract a large number of tourists from the second day to the thirteenth day of May, which is a good national fitness exercise.
In the Second List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage and the First List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Extension Projects published by the State Council, Dongguan dragon boat making skills were selected. Among the two batches of intangible cultural heritage announced this time, the dragon boat making skill is the only project in Dongguan.
