Do all Asian countries celebrate the New Year? Do they all have New Year's Eve?

People in China celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival. People in some Asian countries also bid farewell to the old and welcome the new with special folk activities.

Two Koreas: New Year greetings are the highlight of the New Year custom. The most important thing in New Year's greetings is to offer sacrifices to ancestors, place memorial tablets or portraits of ancestors according to genealogy, and place various offerings on the altar. The offerings strictly abide by the rules of fish in the east, meat in the west, head in the east and tail in the west, red in the east and white in the west, raw in the east and cooked in the west, and left rice and right soup. The whole family wore traditional national costumes and kowtowed to their ancestors in turn. After that, the younger generation should kowtow to the elders in order of seniority and age, and the elders will give them lucky money.

Vietnam: New Year's Eve also has the custom of keeping old age. On the first day of the first month, Vietnamese people began to offer sacrifices to their ancestors, and five fruit bowls symbolizing the five elements of heaven and earth were essential offerings. After the worship, the whole family went to the temple to pray, and broke a long bud branch from the tree in the temple and put it on the table at home, commonly known as "please leave", which can bring good luck to the family.

Cambodia: On New Year's Eve, local people will go to the Baosheng Emperor Temple in the neighboring provinces of the capital Phnom Penh. This temple is located on Baise River, a tributary of Mekong River. After the war, it was still well preserved and full of incense.

Singapore: Keep the custom of visiting relatives and friends to pay New Year greetings to each other. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, adults and children will put on new clothes and bring two oranges as gifts, which means good luck and yes-men. The host will also give back two oranges, commonly known as "exchanging oranges".
