Regulations of Shantou Municipality on the Protection and Inheritance of Chaozhou Opera

Article 1 In order to strengthen the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera, these Regulations are formulated in accordance with the Intangible Cultural Heritage Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the actual situation of this Municipality. Article 2 These Regulations shall apply to the protection, inheritance, dissemination and development of Chaozhou Opera within the administrative area of this Municipality. Article 3 These Regulations protect the objects of inheritance, including the following Chaozhou Opera forms with historical, aesthetic and artistic values, as well as related objects and places:

(1) Representative plays, scripts, aria, language, music, music scores, traditional performing arts, stage arts, etc. Chaozhou opera;

(2) Make-up skills closely related to Chaozhou Opera and making skills of musical instruments, costumes, props, sets, helmets and headdresses;

(3) Historical archives, documents, objects, places and facilities closely related to Chaozhou Opera;

(five) other protection and inheritance objects closely related to Chaozhou opera. Article 4 The protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera should carry forward the socialist core values and adhere to the principle of equal emphasis on government leadership, social participation, protection, inheritance, dissemination and development. Fifth city, district (county) people's government should strengthen the organization and leadership of the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou opera, and bring it into the relevant planning of national economic and social development at the corresponding level.

The cultural administrative department of the people's government of the city or district (county) shall be responsible for the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera within its administrative area, and shall, jointly with relevant departments, prepare a special plan for the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera, and organize its implementation after being approved by the people's government at the same level. Seventh city, district (county) people's government departments in charge of culture shall organize the investigation of Chaozhou opera resources within their respective administrative areas, and establish Chaozhou opera archives database and database. Article 9 The municipal, district (county) people's governments shall increase financial investment in the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera, and make overall arrangements for the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera in the annual budgets of cultural heritage protection, cultural industries, cultural benefits for the people and artistic development.

Measures for the use of funds for the protection and inheritance of Chaozhou Opera shall be formulated by the municipal, district (county) people's governments. Article 13 The cultural and market supervision department of the municipal, district (county) people's government shall guide and support the protection and inheritance units of Chaozhou Opera and the representative inheritors of Chaozhou Opera's intangible projects to declare intellectual property rights such as copyrights, trademarks and patents according to law, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests according to law. Article 14 The education administrative department of the municipal, district (county) people's government shall encourage and support schools to incorporate the basic knowledge of Chaozhou Opera into education and teaching. Schools can hire off-campus Chaozhou opera experts and representative inheritors of Chaozhou opera intangible projects as part-time art teachers.
