Gong and drum are traditional percussion instruments in China. Percussion instruments in China are divided into metal and bamboo according to different materials. The earliest people who used gongs were ethnic minorities living in southwest China. Drums appeared earlier. Judging from the unearthed cultural relics found today, it can be determined that the history of drums is about 4500 years (taking the earthen drums unearthed from the early tomb of Taosi site in Xiangfen, Shanxi as an example). In ancient times, drums were not only used for sacrifice, music and dance, but also for attacking enemies and driving away wild animals. They were also tools for telling time and giving an alarm. According to the Book of Rites, there was an earthen drum in the Yi family, that is, a drum made of mud. Drum has a good * * * sound, and its voice is rich and loud, so it has long been used by Chinese ancestors as an army to cheer. According to legend, in the battle of the Yellow Emperor's conquest of Zhuolu in Chiyou, "the Yellow Emperor used skin as a drum to kill the shovel, which earned him a reputation of 500" ("Taiping Yulan" volume 582 quoted "Imperial Century"). "Beat the drums to kill the enemy, ring the golden bell to retreat" is a phrase we often hear in traditional storytelling.

Magnificent gongs and drums are a folk percussion instrument, which was born and popular in Linfen, Huozhou, Hong Tong and Fenxi in the southwest of the mountain. Since ancient times, it has been a day for young people to go shopping to catch up with the excitement, and there is a tradition of "the fifteenth day of the first month". On the fifteenth day of the first month, there is only one thing in Huozhou City-beating gongs and drums to impress people! In Huozhou, we call it a "big fight"!

Last year, I went to huozhou city for the first time to watch "Hot Fire" on the second day of junior high school, which was really an eye-opener. In the early morning of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, people from various towns and villages gathered on the highway in twos and threes, riding bicycles and walking, with no head in front and no tail in the back. Everyone ran in one direction-huozhou city. In huozhou city, it's already a sea of people. The gongs and drums team should perform hard every time they go on stage, and the judges on the stage are responsible for grading. Outstanding gongs and drums players will be rewarded with a piece of HongLing, and after the game, they will receive a bonus according to the number of HongLing. The drummer with the highest level hangs several bright red silks and satins, which are very bright. Seeing that the people on the rostrum came to see HongLing off again, the drummer knocked harder!

Drummers get together and beat the drums repeatedly. For a time, their right hand held flowers in the air, which was called "holding flowers in one hand". Another time, their hands circled in the air, called "double bouquet" and "alternate bouquet". On another occasion, they threw the drumstick into the air with their right hand, and when they fell, they quickly caught the knock. The drumming was not chaotic at all, which made people see things in a blur and feel at a loss.

There was a sea of people in front of the rostrum, and the excited audience rushed to squeeze past, involuntarily. The police in huozhou city are not worried about the stampede. They have rich experience. The policeman in charge of maintaining order wears sunglasses and has a bamboo broom in his hand, patrolling back and forth in front of the crowd. Seeing where people were crowded badly, the police went over and slapped them with a broom, and the crowd immediately retreated. Naturally, people who were beaten were not convinced and asked the police for theory. It is often a scholar who meets a soldier for unknown reasons. This way of maintaining order is a bit rough, but it is very effective. In those years in Huozhou, I really never heard of a stampede accident during the Lantern Festival. When there was a stampede on the Bund in Shanghai on February 3, 20 14, I thought that if Huozhou police were present, there would be fewer casualties or even no stampede accident.

The magnificent gongs and drums of the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China have been beating drums all day, and we watched them one by one along the rostrum of the 18th National Congress. Later, Huozhou's reputation for majestic gongs and drums gradually started in China. 1988, the magnificent gongs and drums team of 300 people in Huoxian (now huozhou city) became famous at the opening ceremony of the first National Farmers' Games held in Beijing.

1993 summer vacation, I went home by train with my classmates. Pukou station came up with a team of more than 100 people, full of familiar Huozhou accent. One of the programs of the graduation ceremony is a military boxing performance of 800 people. The phalanx is in the valley. This scene gives me the feeling that it is very similar to the performance of the prestige gongs and drums team. It should be the most appropriate for soldiers to perform magnificent gongs and drums. After joining the army, I participated in many important scientific research or cultural activities, but I didn't have the opportunity to participate in or organize gongs and drums performances. This year, the army began to reform its scale structure and strength. As a soldier, we will embark on a new journey.
