Throttle screw-"J" is used to adjust the throttle opening of carburetor to adjust the minimum engine speed. Your car should have a plunger throttle. This screw is on the right, bare, and you can see the spring.

Idle speed auxiliary nozzle adjusting screw-"D" is the steam mixing screw you mentioned, with grooves in the front and rear and hidden.

The problem you encounter should be that the adjusting screw of the idle auxiliary nozzle is withdrawn too much. The adjustment standard of carburetor idle speed is that it can be started without refueling, and there is no transition from idle speed to medium speed acceleration.

I encountered a problem and the second one was not adjusted well. After adjustment, the slow throttle can't hear the card, and the heavy throttle doesn't close.

The current adjustment method is to use the J screw to back off, let the engine rotate at the lowest speed without stalling, and then slowly screw in the D screw, feel the speed change bit by bit, find the speed increase, and stop at the highest point. It may stall in the middle, so restart it until you find this point. Then start to accelerate until you reach the two mentioned above.
