Summer vacation time

In the compulsory education stage, the school summer vacation starts from July 1, and the holiday time of ordinary high schools starts from July 10.

Historical origin of summer vacation: Summer vacation originated from private schools. In ancient times, there were no air conditioners and fans. Children in private schools are afraid of heat, and so are teachers. In order to avoid heatstroke in class, we have to give everyone a holiday. Because this kind of holiday was given by a private school, it was called "school leave" and was later misrepresented as "summer vacation".

? Summer vacation may be related to the slight summer heat in the 24 solar terms. The midsummer and midsummer in the 24 solar terms are basically around the middle of July in the Gregorian calendar. It's almost the day when students start their summer vacation, so it's called summer vacation.
