How many years are the National Games held?
The National Games are held every four years, usually in the year following the Olympic Games.
The National Games are generally known as the National Games of the People's Republic of China (PRC), or "National Games" for short. The National Games are the highest level and largest comprehensive games in China. The National Games competition program in addition to martial arts is basically the same as the Olympic Games, its original intention is to exercise for the country's Olympic strategy for newcomers, selecting talent. The Games are held once every four years, usually around the Olympic Games year. The first nine National Games were organized by Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong on a rotating basis.
In early 2001, the General Office of the State Council officially issued a letter on the cancellation of the restriction that the National Games be held alternately by Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, and on August 16, 2011, after three rounds of secret ballots, the city of Tianjin was awarded the right to host the 2017 Thirteenth National Games.
