In-depth interpretation of Huawei's strategic deployment of smart cars (with shares)-research report

Let's share the information about Huawei's car-making that we shared last year.

You can look at the understanding of intelligence. Some data are from last year.

Comparative analysis of Huawei's car-making Let's talk about Huawei's car-making in the simplest way, and prepare to talk about the background, Huawei's advantages and disadvantages, cooperation mode with the whole vehicle, and future expectations.

Background: car electrification+intelligent wave electrification is the first half of the car, and intelligence is the second half. For electrification, lithium battery technology has made a breakthrough, and the cruising range has been qualitatively improved. At present, the cruising range of pure electric batteries can reach 500km, and that of hybrid batteries can reach 1000- 1200 km. The next technical path is that solid-state batteries are expected to open a new milestone in 2026.

As the second half of intelligence, 202 1 opened the first year of intelligence. In the intelligent era, smart cars will drive the upstream and downstream and industrial chains to complete changes and complete value redistribution.

In the smart car industry chain, the smile curve is steeper, that is, the value of intelligent and electrified parts in the upstream, and the value of vehicle sales, software and car networking in the downstream is higher than that of traditional cars. On the contrary, the value of traditional parts will be reduced.

The moat has a high level in vehicle manufacturing and verification of vehicle laws and regulations, and is expected to maintain a good return on assets. In fact, this is also reflected in the market. The market of traditional parts companies in the last two years is very poor, the market recognition is not high, and the valuation can't come up.

Advantages and disadvantages of Huawei As a banner of domestic science and technology, Huawei is the focus wherever it goes.

20 19 semiconductor has set off a frenzy of replacing domestic semiconductors; The appearance of 202 1 HarmonyOS system set off a wave of domestic software, and the intelligent car of 202 1 also set off the climax of automobile intelligence again.

The essence of Huawei's car-making is technology empowerment. Huawei uses its own advantages in software and hardware to empower the traditional automobile manufacturing industry and open a wave of intelligentization of traditional automobile enterprises.

In fact, Huawei's statement of building a car is not accurate. It is to help car companies build and sell good cars, but Huawei says it is cooler to build cars, so we will continue to use this statement.

Huawei's car-making time nodes are sorted out:

20 13 set up the car networking division;

20 14 reached cooperation with changan, Dongfeng and faw.

20 17 reached a strategic cooperation with BAIC;

20 18 made substantial progress in cooperation with Chang' an, Dongfeng and BAIC;

On 20 19, BU, a smart car solution, was established and passed the vehicle terminal certification of the European automobile industry;

In 2020, the HI brand appeared-the first smart car solution.

202 1, Beiqi Polar Fox and Xiaokang Sailis listed; "Huawei Octopus" autopilot platform/HarmonyOS system intelligent cockpit release;

202 1 From the second half of the year to 2022, it is expected that several of the eight models of Changan Automobile will be listed, and BYD Huawei HI version will be listed.

Huawei's advantages lie in software systems, chip computing power and hardware sensors, covering sensing, calculation and execution. It is a global company that can compete with Tesla gallants.

Software system: HarmonyOS system of the Internet of Everything, with the focus not on mobile phones, but on the Internet of Things.

Unlike the mobile phone system monopolized by Android and iOS, the in-vehicle operating system does not have the same standards, nor does it form a monopoly pattern. It is a relatively scattered distribution, and there is no risk of getting stuck in this respect.

If the mobile phone system is dominated by Android and iOS, then the pattern of in-vehicle system is like opening another window for us, and Huawei seized this opportunity.

In the era of intelligent driving, the position of in-vehicle operating system will be no less than that of mobile phone system, and the appearance of HarmonyOS system makes China's operating system at the forefront of the world for the first time.

Huawei has HOS intelligent cockpit operating system, AOS intelligent driving operating system and VOS intelligent vehicle control operating system. Of course, Huawei also has V2X map software.

The chip provides computing power: Intelligent driving/unmanned driving requires high computing power. Huawei has AI chip, GPU/FPGA/ASIC chip and CPU chip. The chip provides super computing power and is the brain that supports intelligent driving.

Huawei released the intelligent driving computing platform MDC8 10-shengteng. The MDC8 10-ascending computing platform supports L2-L5 intelligent driving. There are 16 cameras, 12 CAN, and 8 car ethereum, which are released for mass production.

This piece has not been restricted by the United States at present, and Huawei's 28nm automotive chip can still be manufactured by SMIC. Taking precautions, Huawei began to build its own 28nm chip production line in 2020, and plans to build a non-A technology production line to ensure that the company's automobile business will not be affected.

Hardware: Huawei has laser radar, which is one of the few companies in the world that can mass-produce laser mines, as well as 4D imaging radar, intelligent cockpit, intelligent electrical management system (battery management, motor control system, mpower multi-mode electric drive, thermal management system integration, car display platform AR-HUD, etc.

On the whole, Huawei's software covers operating systems, algorithms and high-precision maps, and its hardware covers sensing devices and chips. At the same time, build a more open ecosystem to provide vertical development capabilities for vehicle manufacturers. There is no short board in hardware and software, and it is the only autopilot provider in the world (the other is Tesla).

Huawei's disadvantage is that there is no data source, and the realization of autonomous driving requires massive data. Compared with Tesla, it has a lot of user data, which can provide it with worthless data support. At present, Huawei can only rely on simulation experiments to improve autonomous driving.

After the car that started to cooperate with Huawei went on the market in 2022, it will gradually acquire some user data, which will help improve the automatic driving ability.

Another concern may be chips. If the United States continues to tighten its policy toward Huawei and does not allow SMIC and other countries to OEM automobile chips for Huawei, the chips may be under pressure before their own production lines are completed.

Huawei's goal is Tesla! ! Benchmark Tesla! Cooperation Mode with Automobile Factory China's automobile manufacturing has been catching up for 30 years, and the gap with foreign countries is still very large. Neither the technology-for-market model nor the joint venture model can help the whole vehicle manufacturing achieve technological catch-up.

However, the rise of Tesla has given our automobile industry a glimmer of light. It turns out that cars can still do this! Therefore, on the track of new energy vehicles, we are in the lead! The second half of intelligent driving is a battle that traditional car companies in China must win.

Domestic automakers have also seen such opportunities and the changes brought about by cooperation with Huawei. Traditional automobile manufacturing stresses precision manufacturing. A car has 65438+ ten thousand parts. On the contrary, there are only about 6,543,800 new energy vehicles, which greatly reduces the difficulty and almost realizes the words of Geely Automobile CEO: a car is four wheels+654.38+ 0 sofas.

At present, the vehicle companies cooperating with Huawei include Xiaokang, Beiqi New Energy, Changan Automobile, BYD, Guangzhou Automobile Group, SAIC, FAW and other domestic mainstream car companies.

There are three modes of cooperation: deep cooperation, sub-brands and ordinary suppliers.

(1) Deep cooperation-The cooperation between Huawei and Xiaokang is deeply bound. Huawei has a great voice and is mainly responsible for pricing, design, configuration, supply chain and marketing, while Xiaokang is responsible for manufacturing and after-sales. Huawei has a team of nearly 300 people stationed in Xiaokang, fully participating in R&D, quality control, sales and pricing.

Huawei provides four-in-one electric drive system, HiCar system and automatic driving system. The display of Huawei offline stores belongs to sales. The SF5 jointly built by Tianhong Huawei was launched on April 2 1, and positioned as a high-performance electric coupe SUV. The price of two-wheel drive is 2 1.68 million, and the price of four-wheel drive is 246,800. Pure endurance 180km. It is also the only car marked with the word "Huawei" at present, and Changan /BAIC/ BYD will only reward the word "Hi".

The cooperation with Xiaokang shares is the deepest. At present, Xiaokang has raised 2.6 billion yuan to expand production, and the company's manufacturing capacity will be improved to a greater extent. According to the research information, the second paragraph will be released in August-10, and the third paragraph will be released at the end of the year or early next year.

(2) The cooperation between sub-brands BAIC, Changan Automobile Huawei, BAIC New Energy (BAIC Blue Valley) and Changan Automobile belongs to the sub-brand mode of the second echelon. Sub-brands are mainly reflected in high-end driverless cooperation. As a supplier, Huawei provides HI and autonomous driving services to locate high-end cars. Huawei does not participate in design, pricing, configuration and supply.

ARCFOX polar fox jointly built with BAIC is equipped with Huawei smart grid, laser radar, 6 millimeter-wave radars, 12 camera and 143 ultrasonic radar, and equipped with Huawei chips to realize L3-level automatic driving. The price of the polar fox is in the range of 25-35, which belongs to pure electric vehicles with a cruising range of over 700km. Compared with the well-off Cyrus, the positioning of the polar fox is higher. Aouita, jointly built with Changan Automobile and contemporary Amperex Technology Limited, * * * builds an autonomous and controllable intelligent electric networked car platform (CHN) and a series of smart car products. With E 1 1 as the benchmark, it is oriented to high-end models such as ES6 and Tesla modelY in the future, with an estimated price of 300,000-400,000, which belongs to higher-end models. It is expected that there will be models in the second half of the year, and there will be five models in 2022. In addition, several new energy vehicles equipped with Huawei products will also come out one after another.

(3) General supplier mode-In addition to the above two modes of cooperation, BYD's cooperation with other car companies is more general supplier mode, in which BYD/GAC /SAIC will be equipped with Huawei's intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving computing platform, intelligent car networking and other products.

The HiCar model of BYD and Huawei will also be launched in Q3, equipped with Huawei intelligent networking 5g products, including MDC3 10 intelligent driving system. Guangzhou Automobile has an Aion car that will also be equipped with Huawei products, including a complete set of solutions such as intelligent driving, intelligent networking and intelligent cockpit. It can be seen that Xiaokang, Beiqi Blue Valley and Changan Automobile are the three vehicle companies with the deepest cooperation with Huawei, among which Xiaokang, as a private enterprise, has the deepest cooperation, Huawei has the greatest right to speak, and the market gives higher recognition. The models currently launched are all low-end. Voice Changan belongs to State Automobile, and Huawei's right to speak is relatively low. Huawei's software and hardware are widely used in the models, aiming at the middle and high end. The three companies are positioned in the price gradient distribution of low distribution (200,000-250,000 well-off nature), medium distribution (250,000-350,000 Beiqi polar fox) and high distribution (300,000-400,000 Changan Aoweite), forming three brand gradients of high, medium and low. Judging from the models that may be released in the future, Huawei and Changan will cooperate with more models, of which 5 are owned by Ovida and 3 are other brands. Huawei has the largest investment in Chang 'an, followed by BAIC and Xiaokang. Future expectations: new models and heavy volume From the perspective of progress, Xiaokang is the fastest, fastest product and fastest heavy volume. Second, BAIC, Changan Automobile will produce products at the end of 20021and go public in 2022Q3.
