How to evaluate postmodernism

Postmodernism refers to the later part of modernity, a subversion of and rebellion against modern forms of expression and even ways of thinking and values. With the emergence of Einstein's theory of relativity, the Theorem of Inaccuracy, and the Big Bang Theory, mankind came to realize that science had its uncertainties and that it could not be used to solve any problem. The shaking of modernism led to the gradual rise of postmodernism.

Postmodernism is not a specific, monolithic style, nor is it defined by the era in which it was created.

Postmodernism in design

In an effort to push the limits of modernism, artists and designers have used postmodernism to refer to a wide range of contemporary isms such as feminism, multiculturalism, deconstructionism, temporal elements, media use, and materialism. These ideas emphasize that there is no single, absolute answer or standard for the creation and appreciation of art, that the author is emotionally detached from the finished work, and that the author, the viewer, the curator (or the venue) and the environment (or the phenomenon) are all participants in the work of art, which makes both the creation and appreciation of art very diverse.
