Overview of forestry economics
Forestry economics is a discipline that studies the production of forestry departments, as well as the laws and applications of economic activities and economic relations such as distribution, exchange and consumption. The current forestry economic model based on wood sustainable utilization system and neoclassical economic framework has many limitations.
The social, economic and ecological factors in the sustainable forest management (SFM) system are different from the sustainable utilization of wood. Therefore, SFM economics will be based on multivariate equilibrium economics and consumer preference theory. Among them, the consumer preference theory considers the complexity of individuals, the particularity of environment, the dynamics of preferences, the differences of needs and the hierarchy of needs. In view of the inherent requirements of SFM, it is necessary to expand the field of forestry economics in today's society.
