The origin of calendar
The first day is a page, recording the state, court events and the words and deeds of the emperor. The imperial calendar is divided into twelve volumes, each volume has the same number of pages as the number of days per month, and each page indicates the number of days and dates.
Later, when it was developed, the month and date, official support, festivals and other contents were written on it in advance, and notes were left in the blank space below, similar to the current desk calendar. At that time, the eunuch who served the emperor recorded the emperor's words and deeds in the blank space of the calendar. At the end of the month, after being verified by the emperor, it was sent to historians for the record, which was called calendar at that time. These calendars will be used as the basis for historians to compile national history in the future.
Later, many senior officials in the imperial court thought this kind of calendar was good, so they followed suit and compiled calendars for their own use. Some people also printed the branches of the almanac, monthly orders, solar terms and auspicious days of the zodiac on the calendar, leaving them blank for notes.
