Three basic elements of artistic flower arrangement modeling
Any modeling is composed of three elements: shape, color and quality, and so is flower arrangement. Let me show you three basic elements of artistic flower arrangement modeling!
First of all, texture
Texture is one of the most important elements in design, and texture is the surface characteristics of objects, such as smoothness, roughness and so on. The materials used in the art of flower arrangement are plants, with a wide variety and different textures, some are rigid and soft, some are thick and some are thin. Due to the different growth environment, there are significant differences in texture between wild Miscanthus and greenhouse flowers, as well as between mountain plants and aquatic shade plants. When arranging flowers, works made of different materials have different styles and tastes. In addition to natural texture, flowers can also show special texture after artificial treatment. For example, when rough bark is peeled off, smooth branches will appear, and fresh leaves will become stiff and rough after air drying. Bamboo with smooth surface will show rough fiber section after sawing. Different parts of the same flower will have different textures, such as rough surface of wheat ears and smooth and oily straw, so we must carefully observe and master them.
Flower arrangement works should show the coordination of flower materials and produce natural and smooth effects. Improper coordination will appear far-fetched, unnatural and lose beauty. For example, the collocation of pine branches and chrysanthemums is more harmonious than that of carnations, while the collocation of alpine dry land plants and aquatic plants is not harmonious, which is the law that natural flower arrangement needs to abide by. In addition, modern floral design sometimes focuses on the expression of texture, which produces a strong visual effect through the contrast of different textures, which is another expression technique.
Second, the form
"Shape" is the basic form of flower material, and "state" is posture. The basic form of modeling consists of points, lines and surfaces. Smaller flowers can be regarded as dots, such as Xiao Ju, the sky, or some small leaves. Multipoint polymerization can be connected into lines, even faces and clusters. In large-scale works, roses and carnations can be regarded as points.
Generally, broad leaves can be regarded as planes, such as tortoise shell bamboo, green radish and spring feather. Some are flat, some are wrinkled or cracked, and their shapes are different. The plane can be deformed by various methods, such as machining, curling or folding, tearing, etc. And produce unexpected results.
Linear flower material can make the flower shape straight, stretch, spread or elegant, resulting in various beautiful postures and spaces. Therefore, traditional oriental flower arrangement attaches great importance to the expression of lines, and modern flower arrangement is also inseparable from lines. There are many kinds of linear flowers, such as gladiolus and tuberose. There are countless woody flowers, and almost all branches can be regarded as wires. The most common are all kinds of willow branches, mulberry branches, pine branches, bamboo, osmanthus and camellia. There are also many lines in the leaves, such as water onion, New Zealand hemp, sunflower core and so on.
Many flowers can be used as points, lines or faces. For example, many leafy materials, such as birds of paradise, sunflower, cycads and so on. All of them are put in a face on the front and a line on the side, which often shows that people are more moving and beautiful than faces. Therefore, when arranging flowers, we should look at the flowers from different angles to show different forms. Arrangers should not only be familiar with the natural forms of various flower materials, but also transform the flower materials when necessary to create the forms they need. Through pruning, tearing, curling, twists and turns, bending, binding and other methods, the original image of the flower material is changed to meet the needs of creation.
Form is not only the expression of composition, but also the medium of works' connotation. The artistic conception of a work can be expressed by images composed of flowers and utensils, and the fusion of images and artistic conception can produce strong artistic effects. The most creative works are not characterized by the types of flowers and leaves, but by how to use them. Through creativity, beauty can be found in the simplest and most common flowers and leaves in nature. Although the materials are the same, they can produce unlimited creativity and have various effects.
Third, color.
Color is an important factor of beauty, and western flower arrangement emphasizes the use of color. Flowers are colorful, but how to match them harmoniously and pleasing to the eye requires some common sense of color.
(a) the composition of color is divided into "achromatic" and "colored". Achromatic refers to white, gray and black; Color is a variety of colors in the spectrum, that is, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple and so on. Colors can be divided into primary colors, intermediate colors and complex colors. Red, yellow and blue are primary colors and cannot be mixed. Other colors can be mixed with any primary color. The mixing of two primary colors produces an intermediate color, and the mixing of the intermediate color and the intermediate color is a composite color.
Color consists of hue, lightness and chroma. The secluded encounter in the whole region is also the name of different colors such as dividends, yellow and orange. Sitting Shao ④ White and yellow have the highest brightness, while black and purple have the lowest brightness. The amount of achromatic colors (black, white and gray) mixed with colors is getting stronger and stronger. For example, pure red is high in color, while mixed white is pink and low in chroma. Brightness and chroma together, make the color have the difference of light and shade, strength and shade, which is called hue.
