Leiyang is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province and managed by Hengyang City. It is located in the south of Hengyang City, north of Wuling Mountain Range, adjacent to Anren County in the northeast, Yongxing County in the southeast and south, Guiyang County in the southwest corner, Changling City in the west and Hengnan County across the river in the north. It is located in the transition zone between the southern margin of Hengyang Basin and Wuling Mountains.
