Tell us what Chinese painting, watercolor painting, sketching, printmaking, calligraphy and oil painting are respectively?
Traditional Chinese painting, also known as "Chinese painting", is my country's traditional painting (different from "Western painting"). Tools and materials include brushes, ink, Chinese painting pigments, rice paper, silk, etc. The themes can be divided into figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, etc. The techniques can be divided into freehand brushwork and freehand brushwork. Its spiritual core is "pen and ink". Watercolor is a painting method that uses water to mix transparent pigments. It is called watercolor for short. Because the colors are transparent, covering one layer of color with another can produce special effects. However, mixing too many colors or covering too much will make the colors dirty and the water dry. It is fast, so watercolor painting is not suitable for making large-scale works, but is suitable for making fresh and bright small paintings such as landscapes. The color is easy to carry and can also be used for sketching and collecting materials. Sketch, as the name suggests, is a quick sketching method. Sketch is an original Chinese vocabulary and is a type of sketch. Sketch, like sketch, is not only the basis of plastic arts, but also an independent art form. The establishment of this independent form occurred after the 18th century in Europe. Before that, sketching was only the preparatory stage and recording method for painters' creations. Printmaking is also an important category of Chinese art. Ancient printmaking mainly refers to woodcuts, with a few copperplate engravings and color printing. The unique taste of knife and wood gives it independent artistic value and status in the history of Chinese culture and art. Calligraphy, also known as "Chinese calligraphy", is a traditional art unique to China. In a narrow sense, calligraphy refers to the method and rules of writing Chinese characters with a brush. Including writing, writing, stippling, structure, layout (distribution, line order, composition) and other contents. Broadly speaking, calligraphy refers to the writing rules of language symbols. In other words, calligraphy refers to writing according to the characteristics and meaning of the text, using its calligraphy style, structure and organization to make it a beautiful work of art. Oil painting (an oil painting; a painting in oils) is a type of painting made by mixing pigments with quick-drying vegetable oils (linseed oil, poppy oil, walnut oil, etc.) on canvas, linen, cardboard or wooden boards. The thinners used in painting are volatile turpentine and dry linseed oil. The pigment attached to the picture has strong hardness and can maintain its luster for a long time after the picture dries. Relying on the hiding power and transparency of the pigment, the painted object is fully expressed, with rich colors and strong three-dimensional texture. Oil painting is one of the main types of Western painting.
