Early years

Lee Do-hae grew up studying ballet and traditional Korean dance, and attended Sydney Burwood Girls High School for high school. She lived in Australia until she graduated from high school; afterward, her family immigrated to the United States. In the beginning, Lee returned to Korea with the determination to become an actress, and she changed her name to motivate herself to achieve her goal.

In 2001, Lee Da Hae participated in the 71st Miss Chunhyang contest and won the title; after that, she entered the acting circle and appeared in a few supporting roles in movies and TV dramas, but the attention was never very high.

On June 7, 2004, Lee Da Hae starred in the family drama "The Flower King" along with Kim Sung Min, Han Jin Hee, and Kim Hye Seon*** in the role of "The Fairy". In the drama, she played the role of cheerful but weak girl Yoon Choo-won, and won the Best New Actress Award at the Baeksang Art Awards for this role.
