What are the classifications of IP addresses?
Class A address: starts with 0, 1~ 126 is the network number, and the last three bytes are the main telephone number, which supports at most two 24-2 hosts.
Class B address: starts with 10, and 128~ 19 1 is the network number, and the last two bytes are the main telephone number, which supports at most two 16-2 hosts.
Class C address: starts with 1 10, takes 192~223 as the network number, followed by 1 byte as the main telephone number, and supports at most two 8-2 hosts.
Class d address: starts with 1 1 10, and 224~239 are multicast addresses.
Class E address: starts with111,and 240~255 are reserved addresses.
The main difference between these different types of IP addresses lies in their different network ranges and the number of available hosts. Networks of different sizes use different IP address categories to meet different needs. In addition to the IP addresses of A, B and C, the addresses of D and E are usually used for specific purposes and are not used by conventional networks.
