Introduction to Tibetan Studies

According to statistics, there are now more than fifty research institutes of Tibetology in China, with more than one thousand experts and scholars. The richness and voluminousness of the Tibetan literature is second only to that of the Han in China's 56 nationalities, and tops the list of all ethnic minorities. China's Tibetology has entered a new historical period, and has become a comprehensive discipline that studies the social history and culture of the Tibetan people, mainly in Tibet, and including Sichuan, Qingdao, Gan, and Yunnan.
