What are the three elements of culture?
Introduction to Cultural Industry says that the three elements of culture are spiritual elements, expressive elements and normative elements. Explain with semiotics:
The spiritual element is the "signified", that is, the content containing philosophical, religious, artistic, ethical and other ideological meanings.
Expressive elements are symbolic signifiers, such as a nation's language, clothing, brand logo, national flag, lens in film and television and other cultural expressions.
Normative elements are symbolic "codes", including thinking norms, such as established grammar rules, artistic procedures, customs and habits, as well as clear legal provisions and other norms of people's behavior.
