Chapter 61 (24) The great nation is the lower stream, the female of the world, and the fellow of the world. The female is always quieter than the male, and quieter than the lower. Sixty-two chapters (25) The Tao is the mystery of all things. It is the treasure of the good, and the protection of the ungodly. Chapter 81 (31) Belief is not beautiful, and beautiful words are not believed. The good man does not argue, and the argumentative man is not good. The way of heaven is to benefit and not to harm; the way of the saint is to be and not to fight.
