Jingmai Mountain's name and the origin of the legend.

It is said that a long time ago, there lived a huge Dai tribe in Mengmaohaofa area, which made a living by hunting and picking wild fruits and vegetables. This tribe is United and friendly, and continues to grow and develop. However, with the increase of population, the food in the habitat is facing a shortage. In order to keep the tribe going, Zhao Nora, the prince of the tribe, decided to leave his habitat and find his home again with some people.

In BC 106, Zhao took a large army down the Lancang River and waded all the way to Lincang, which was deserted at that time. Lincang is also a beautiful place. After observing the surrounding terrain, Zhao Nora and his people decided to let a small number of people settle here.

Zhao Nala, on the other hand, continued to go south along the river with the rest of the people, and finally came to Lancang County. By looking at the general situation of the surrounding environment and food, Zhao Nala decided to build a village on the spot with his people. At that time, the Lancang River had no name. Zhao Jian's wild elephants flocked here, so he named it "Lang Zhangjiang" ("Lang" is a language, and "Lang" is a million; "Zhang": elephant).

Then people wrote "Zhang Lang" as "Lancang" according to its homonym. Later, people got used to the name Lancang and gradually forgot the original name Zhang Lang.

Besides, Zhao Nala, since she settled down, has been hunting and breeding with her people and living a life of food and clothing. I thought I would spend the rest of my life here, but you never know.

One day, Zhao Nora took his men hunting in the mountains again. Suddenly, I found a golden red deer grazing leisurely. As soon as I saw Zhao Nora and others, I jumped up and fled. How can Zhao Nala and his people let such a "treasure" go? They ran after it without hesitation. After a long chase, I couldn't catch up. People are faster than red deer, and people are slower than red deer. They were thirsty and hungry, so they ate some wild fruits. I don't know how many days they chased it.

Zhao Nala and the people chasing Jin Lu suddenly became dejected and despondent, ready to return, but they looked up and saw a large dense virgin forest. After passing through the forest, the terrain is gentle and the land is fertile. At the foot of the mountain, there is a huge sea of clouds. On the mountain, the weather is sunny, the mountains and rivers are beautiful, and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. The environment is very beautiful. They came back from there immediately and decided to go back and settle here with their wives and tribal members.

This is why the Dai villagers in Jingmai said that when their ancestors moved to Jingmai Mountain, there was a golden red deer leading the way. In Dai language, Jingmai means "the scenery is the city, and the big step is the new". Later generations speculated that the name of Jingmai was related to this and it was a brand-new world.
