What religion does the Dai people believe in?
During the Western Han Dynasty, the Dai people in Banna, Yunnan Province were all religious people, all of whom believed in Buddhism, which was also called Hinayana Buddhism when it spread to the south. It is said that Buddhism in the south of Xishuangbanna was introduced by a man named Azhu Dalasi, with a history of 1000 years.
Dai people call religion "Sasana", and their Buddhism is "Sasana Tower". Pazhaogodama refers to the Buddhist leaders Gautama Siddhartha and Sakyamuni. Southern Buddhism believed by the Dai people was translated as "Wensheng City" in China Buddhist classics. It is an orthodox school of Buddhism. It is said that the first followers of this Sect once listened to Buddhist lectures and preaching with their own ears.
