Disposal methods for food waste

The treatment methods of food waste are: crushing and direct discharge, landfill, and feed treatment.

1, crushing direct discharge

Since the kitchen space is limited, the local reduction treatment is the basic foothold of food waste treatment. Some countries have food waste crushing equipment in the kitchens of their smaller food waste generating units, and the crushed waste is discharged into the municipal sewer network. Of course, clogged drains and mosquito and fly infestation are the drawbacks of this method.

2, landfill

Food waste contains a large number of biodegradable components, which is conducive to the restoration of landfill sites to use, and the operation is simple, so it is more common. However, with the gradual promotion of the availability of food waste, the landfill method shows a declining trend, and even some countries have banned this method.

3, feed treatment

The principle is that a large amount of organic matter in the food waste is crushed, dehydrated, fermented, separated from soft and hard, the waste will be transformed into high-calorie animal feed, turning waste into treasure. At present, China's food waste feed processing technology has become mature.
