Common actions of picking green
Introduction to Green Picking
1. Picking green is the fixed link and climax of the traditional lion dance in China. In the process of lion dance, especially during the Spring Festival, the "lion" hunts "Li" hanging on a high place or placed in a basin through a series of routine performances. Because "Li" is often accompanied by green vegetables (mostly lettuce), it is named "Caiqing".
2. The other is "picking green water": put a basin full of water on the bench and put "green" in the basin. Lion dancers will jump around on the bench and perform various performances. Finally, they will stand on the edge of the basin and catch the "green" from the lion's mouth with their hands.
Sometimes, lions need to step on their shoulders from the bottom of a "sea of people" five or six stories high. There are two or three people and dozens of people in this "sea of people". This is the climax of the lion dance. Skilled performances bring people a thrilling, warm and festive atmosphere and artistic enjoyment through education.
Two. Introduction to lion dance
1. Lion dance is an excellent folk art in China. It was called "Taiping Le" in ancient times. Lion dance can be divided into north and south, and the southern lion is also called lion awakening. Lions are made of colored strips of cloth. Each lion is usually performed by two people, one jumping at the head and the other jumping at the tail.
2. Performers dress up as dogs or other auspicious animals (such as brave and lion) under the music of gongs and drums, and make various movements in order to celebrate and be auspicious. Lion dancers should show southern martial arts with various moves when performing, which is very masculine. Lion dance is considered as an auspicious thing to ward off evil spirits. Whenever there is a festival or major event, it will be accompanied by a lion dance, which will last for a long time and be passed down from generation to generation.
3. Lion dance activities are also widely spread in overseas Chinese communities. Where there are Chinese, there are lion dances, which have become an important ceremony to carry forward the national prestige and establish the soul of China, and a cultural bridge for overseas compatriots to recognize their ancestors and return to their ancestral home. Its cultural value and influence are far-reaching.
