The difference between Wushu and Taekwondo
China Wushu is a culture with China characteristics, and it is a tradition that has been passed down for thousands of years. It's called China Wushu? National quintessence? !
Of course, it should be a kind of martial arts first. The significance of the origin and spread of Wushu lies in its fighting value, but it is different from Muay Thai, Taekwondo, boxing and Gross Jiu Jitsu. In addition to fighting, it also incorporates medical and philosophical elements. Therefore, martial arts cannot be equated with martial arts.
As we know, all schools of traditional Wushu have their own healing methods and psychological methods. Aside from the illusory and confused elements of Machamp, we must admit that the treatment of bone injuries and trauma in Wulin is reasonable, and the boxing proverbs and swordsmanship circulating in Wulin also contain too many philosophical truths.
The difference between Wushu and Taekwondo
My understanding of China Wushu includes self-defense (fighting), strengthening body (medicine) and nourishing heart (philosophy). Together, the three are China Wushu. This is very different from other simple fighting techniques and can be said to be unique. At this point, the same is true of Japanese kendo. It's just that this is Japanese martial arts, not China martial arts. However, these characteristics of China Wushu have become the shackles of promotion today. Most people recognize the value of Wushu only in its fighting elements, and this understanding is very one-sided! I think martial arts is the most comprehensive in fighting. There are also many other fighting skills in China Wushu, such as fist, leg, knee and elbow. However, Wushu has techniques that do not exist in other fighting techniques, and it is extremely powerful. For example, you can't find the inch hand in Wing Chun Boxing in other fighting techniques (Jeet Kune Do has an inch fist, but in my understanding, Jeet Kune Do is also a martial art, a modern martial art, and of course it can't be said to be absolutely perfect. )
One of the important reasons why Wushu is difficult to prove itself in the ring is that the followers of traditional Wushu do not meet the physical requirements of fighting. Under the same physical quality and training intensity, Wushu will not be defeated by other fighting techniques. For example, just because Muay Thai can beat Sanda does not mean that Muay Thai's fighting skills and concepts are better than Sanda. The advantage of Muay Thai lies in the extraordinary physique created by the intensive training of Muay Thai players. People who pay attention to Sanda can see that Baoligao, who has super physique, can also be a proud Thai boxer. I don't mean to ignore the importance of technology in fighting. I am almost sure that two players with the same quality will have an advantage over those who practice Taekwondo in the confrontation, just as a person with systematic fighting training will certainly have an advantage over those with the same quality but no fighting training. This is because the technique of Muay Thai is more suitable for fighting. The difference between the two fighting schools with similar technical content lies only in the quality of the players.
Most of the real martial arts masters in ancient and modern times have explored their own physique to the maximum extent, and the training intensity is far from the so-called martial arts masters now. Bruce Lee's training methods are well known to many people. It is that kind of hard training combined with the study of technology that has created the legend of forbidden kingdom.
