What are the customs of New Year in Fuzhou?
When people meet, they should say "Congratulations on getting rich and having a safe family". Don't sweep the floor, take out the garbage, take a bath, use a knife and say unlucky things on this day. Generally do not eat porridge, do not travel far, go to bed early at night, commonly known as "fighting night lights", earlier than anyone else.
2, the next day. Fuzhou, commonly known as "son-in-law's Day", is the day when daughters and sons-in-law return to their parents' home to pay New Year greetings and eat at the woman's home.
3. The fourth day. Open a festival to welcome the kitchen god back to see things, also called "receiving God Day". On this day, shops set off firecrackers and open doors to welcome guests.
4. The seventh day. On People's Day, Fuzhou is commonly known as "life-saving". People should take seven kinds of vegetables to make soup, which is called "Qibao soup", and eat rice cakes at night, and cook them plain to show longevity.
5, send lights. After the Lantern Festival on the seventh day, you can see my in-laws carrying sugar cane with lanterns and sending lanterns to my sister's in-laws in the streets. Fuzhou usually carries out activities related to lanterns from the tenth day of the first month to the Lantern Festival.
Parents send lanterns to their married daughter. The lantern is a gift from my brother-in-law, so it is called "in-laws send lanterns". When my uncle (brother-in-law) sends lanterns during the Spring Festival, it is very popular in both urban and rural areas of Fuzhou. Sending lanterns is to send "Ding" dialect, and grandma sends lanterns to her nephew, which is to wish her daughter many children and prosperity. My mother's family sent lanterns to her husband's family, mostly from my uncle (brother-in-law).
