Is the magnetic pump a centrifugal pump?

Yes, magnetic pump usually belongs to a kind of centrifugal pump. Centrifugal pump is a common pump, which pumps liquid from the inlet into the pump through centrifugal force, and pushes the liquid to the outlet through the rotating impeller, thus realizing liquid transportation. Magnetic pump is a special type of centrifugal pump, which is characterized by using magnetic coupling technology to isolate the motor from the pump body through magnetic transmission device, thus avoiding the mechanical seal or packing seal in traditional pumps, thus eliminating the risk of leakage between the pump and external media.

Magnetic pump usually consists of motor, magnetic transmission device, pump body and impeller. The motor drives the magnetic transmission device to rotate, and the magnetic transmission device transmits power to the impeller in the pump body through magnetic force to make it rotate, thus generating centrifugal force to push the liquid to the outlet. Because of the existence of magnetic transmission device, the magnetic pump does not need to use mechanical seal or packing seal when running, so it has the advantages of leakage prevention, no pollution and no leakage risk, and is widely used in chemical industry, medicine, electric power, electronics and other fields, especially in the occasions where special media such as corrosive, toxic, flammable and explosive need to be transported.
